    Lochaber Axe

I finally recieved both the Lochaber Axes I ordered. One of them came from Arms & Armor and the other came from a Gentleman named Adriaan Gerber. The one from Arms & Armor is OK, and much better than a pot metal bright and shiney thing from India, but the one from Adriaan is wonderful.

Thanks again to the members of the forum for the suggestions you made to me and a special thanks again to Shaun Maxwell for pointing me to Adriaan.

Here are the pics. Im sorry I am completely new to posting pictures on this sort of thing so apologies if they dont work. Perhaps some one can fix them if I fail.. The first one is the one made by Adriann, with the curved blade and back hook. The small round one on a farby temporary poplar wood pole is the one from Arms & Armor.

    Captain_Cogle:

Glad the axe met your satisfaction! Adriaan made a sgian dubh for me some time ago and I love it (it's on his website as "Sgian Dubh with 9cm blade").

Adriaan has posted some other good photos of your axe on his site, so check them out.

For anyone else interested, Adriaan's site is http://www.adriaangerberknives.com/. Tell him I sent you... You won't be disappointed.

Just be patient and don't worry. I think anything with a link gets automatically blocked until a Mod can review & approve it.

Newer forum members are under an automatic review process for their first few posts (9 or 10, so hang in there!), so the post doesn't show up right away (I think that's in the FAQ somewhere). That helps the mods catch the spammers before they can get too far/cause too much 'damage'.

Nice pices, BTW. And, welcome to the forum.
