    Scotland's Dining Heritage?

What are your favorite Scottish, and particularly Highland, food and dining traditions?

Are there traditions that go along with eating these traditional foods? For example, is there a traditional way of eating salmon, or are there traditional side dishes etc?

Here you go Ted, a traditional "Jock" meal that we enjoy from time to time (not every day!!)

Smoked salmon washed down with Talisker whisky.

A roast young Red Grouse(one each), red currant jelly, new potatoes( boiled with a sprig of mint), fresh from the garden sliced runner beans, washed down with glass,or two, of GOOD claret.

    Stilton cheese, with a good port---Taylors '63.

And, most important of all----Good company.

Hmmm, had not ever tried boiling potatos with mint. Interesting.

    Bugbear,

Boiling new taties with fresh mint is the Only way!

    Jock,
I might substitute the Stilton for Gorgonzola, otherwise I'm ready to be invited!

Must say though, "mince an' tatties still go down well!!!
