    Hamish Centennial Kilt Installment #2

    Hi all,

I'm making progress on Hamish's kilt! Earlier this week, I finished the pleating, and I'm posting a few photos of the pleat stage.

Pleating the kilt in the guest house at Leirubakki, Iceland:

A few views of Hamish's kilt with the resident volcano (Hekla) and its volcanic flows in the background. In these photos, all that's done is the pleat stitching:

This is the 4 WD road that we take to get near my field area:

And basting the pleats in the back of the car surrounded by all our field gear:

    More later!

I especially like the way your hose and hat coordinate with the tartan

    Great pictures, thanks!

This special kilt is getting a heck of a journey on it's way to it's future home. Very nice.

My fingers would look like a blood leaking pin cushion. As Syndie7 said the tartan certainly matches your outdoor clothing.

Yes, but I'll bet the locals are all wearing t-shirts and shorts this time of year.

I love your work, Barb! Someday, I'll save the money to get one of my own! Hamish is a lucky man.
