A superb set of new pics, Jamie, you have done the Wee Saltire proud in taking her to so many engagements in the Bay Area over the past few weeks. I shall watch this thread in eager anticipation to see where the Saltire makes her next landfall.

Fantastic pictures, Jamie. Looks like the Saltire is having a grand old time.

Who's she visiting next?

Exclamation

The members of the Houston Rabble would love to host the XMTSAS Saltire at our Houston Highland Games the weekend of May 15th.

As you may know, the Saltire is still in France. She flew to Corsica and the Isle of Ré. But since I've lost my camera... my photos were lost with it.

Fortunately, we got another camera and I took advantage of Alex Cunningham's visit to our house to allow the Saltire to visit incredible places... for your pleasure Jamie.

Here to start, Alex very expertly hid the Saltire in an inner pocket of his kilt's under apron :

Then off we went to the beautiful Alpine town of Annecy, also called the Venice of the Alps.

Much, much more to come...

Best,

Robert

We then went up to the plateau above our village. It was winter again...

A simple, cosy restaurant was awaiting for us.

With my dear Lady Chrystel...

We ate the speciality: Beignets de pommes de terre, and an excellent mushroom omelette.

Oh... the wine ?

The next morning, we were of for a walk in the mountain.

Then back home for a light lunch.

Our first destination was the town of La Roche-sur-Foron. Here is the old medieval bridge.

The Saltire is here on an extremely old sacred and blessed fountain : La bénite fontaine.

Here is a pure marvel : a dolmen. A cairn, many thousand years old.

Here I am inside of it.

I am taking this photo from the inside.

We finished the afternoon by gorgeous Lake Leman looking towards Switzerland.
