11th Annual Tennessee Highland Games
The 11th Annual Tennessee Highland Games will be October 7-8 in Triune, TN.
The webite is at http://www.hotsc.com
The entertainers will be Albannach, Ed Miller, and Colin Grant Adams.
A new event for this year will be archery. I don't know if it is for competition or demonstration. I remember someone asking about archery at highland games, so I thought I would throw that in. There is also amatuer heavy events.
There will be seminars both days including weaving, Gaelic language, music, history, etc...
I have manned the tent for Clan Barclay at these games for the last four years. They have really grown into a great event. If you plan to come, please stop by and introduce yourself.

Yea, their site is not up to date on most things that's why I included the extra details. Since you are in Georgia, you'd likely come up I-24W. From I-24 you would get off on the Hwy 96 exit in Murfreesboro and go towards Franklin. The grounds are halfway between Murfreesboro and Franklin on Hwy 96.
If anyone wants more specific instructions, send me a PM and I'll do my best to get you here.

I did notice that the site mentions it's being held on the grounds of Castle Gwynn. I've driven past it numerous times.
Directions would help anyone not familiar with the area.

I went back to the website to check it out. I've never looked for directions because I know where it is. There is a link for the Tennessee Renissance Festival underneath the picture of the castle. Click on it and it will take you to a set of directions with a crude map. If that still doesn't help anyone, let me know.
This is a great venue for highland games. The clan tents are located along a wooded path. They are away from the field events so if you're working a clan tent, you miss out on those.

If this is the men's department, where are the kilts?

Good to see Heathbar
My MacIntosh wife & I just got back from the first day of the 11th TN games. It was good to meet Heathbar. The Barclay tent was very easy to spot.
Great music, good food, and well stocked venders. We will certainly be back.
Was anybody else from "Xmarks" there?

I forgot to mention that I saw one of Matt's box pleated kilts. It was a Buchanan in what looked like ancient colors. It was pleated to the white stripe. I don't think it is the one he has picture of on his website.
