| | | Arizona Scottish Gathering & Highland Games
The Caledonian Society's 44th annual Gathering is on February 23rd and 24th this year. It has moved, though. This year it is not in Mesa. It is in Margaret T Hance park in Phoenix. One result of the move is that they will actually be able to sell alcohol, something they have not been able to do in Mesa.
Tickets are $12 a day for adults, $10 a day for seniors, and $5 per day for kids (under 5 free). You can get a $2 discount for adults and seniors by ordering prior to Feb 1st. Games web site
I will be there at least one of the 2 days. I'd like to go Saturday, but it will probably be Sunday.

Thanks for posting that, ChromeScholar
. I don't drink, so the booze part never worried me and it's kind of sad, to me, that they have moved it out of my city. I like the telephone pole tossing contests.

It works for me, moving it, since it cuts my drive time about forty five minutes.

The Queen Mary Games are the week before, but I would like to compete there as well. Not sure if I will or what day. I think I have to compete in B class in Arizona since I took first place last time in C's. I'll know more as the date gets closer.

Cranky olde guy wonders where to park. Parking was bad enough at Mesa Community College...but yikes! Hance Park?? Maybe pull over on I-10 just inside the tunnel and hike up??
Gonna try and make it down. Seems to me there was a LOT of booze flowing at the Mesa location...?...at least in the big tents...or maybe I'm mixing it up with Flagstaff.
I loved my drinkin' but I sure miss the brain cells now....
Anyhow...figure the gas down and back will only be about $90....
Boy, many years ago it used to be not too far away from Hance Park up at Central High School.
