Celtic Fling in PA

What: Celtic Fling & Highland Games
When: Saturday & Sunday, June 25 & 26th
Time: 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 pm
Where:Tickets: Adults - $17.95 (online), $21.95 (at the gate)
Children (5-11) - $7.00 (online), $8.95 (at the gate)General Information:

For one weekend in late June each year, Lancaster County’s Amish country becomes the Celtic capital of the United States as 100’s of musicians, dancers, craftsmen, Scottish clans, Irish societies and rugged athletes from across North America and Europe gather at Mount Hope Estate & Winery for the Celtic Fling & Highland Games.

Centuries before the X-Games took to the airwaves, the Scots were testing themselves in the most demanding athletic events in the world. The skills used on the farm became tests of the strength of Scottish warriors as clans pitted their champions against each other at Highland gatherings. The Fling continues that great tradition with its Highland Athletic Games sanctioned by the Mid-Atlantic Association of Scottish Athletics, whose judges operate under the original rules of the Scottish Stewards Association.

No Celtic festival is complete without food and drink, of course, and Scottish scones, briodies and pasties and Irish soda bread and meat pies top a long Celtic menu. All the while, the Faire’s microbrewery serves up its acclaimed varieties of ales. There’s a free sampling of Scotch whiskey, and “Fear Factor” has nothing on the Fling’s infamous haggis eating contest. Complimentary samples of Mt. Hope Estate wines are available as well.

We'll be there! Its a great time and we're taking my brother-in-law for his birthday. So, the kilted Xmarks folks will have you from the Air Force, me from the Navy and my brother-in-law from the Marines represented. Maybe a meet up is in order?

We were SUPPOSED to do this festival, but our friends (Mike and Jenn... many philly xmarks people have met them) are getting Married that day. Mike got an Irish National Premier and he's borrowing my Prince Charlie jacket for the day. Should be a nice wedding!

Sorry we can't be there... NEXT year we'll be vendors.

Sorry we won't see you and Kelly there this year, Rocky. But, if my kilt is done in time, make sure there's lots of cards with it because it will be worn to the fling. 5 1/2 weeks down.
