Central Florida Highland Games

The Central Florida Highland Games are coming up January 19-20. Great event, at a great venue -- Central Winds Park in Winter Springs.

Anyone going?

The House of Edgar - Shotts & Dykehead pipe band -- 2005 world champions (third the last two years) -- will be performing at the games and in concert Saturday night.

NOW is anyone going?

Did any of you make it to the Scottish American Society of South Florida games this weekend or was it too far . I was wondering how it was and did any of you catch Hunting McLeod on stage.

Lord I hope I make it this year. Drank way to much last year!

Come on by the New World Celts tent and I'll most likely be there.

Competing? In what?

My wife and two daughters are in Rosie O'Grady's Highlanders, though one of my daughters is currently in China and the other is in the temporarily defunct Rosie's Grade 4A band. Saturday my wife was in the Grade 4B band, which took second.

My oldest daughter won the swing tenor competition, but she'll miss the Central Florida games to go visit her little sister in China.

And yes, we should have a meeting. I should be easy to spot. I'll be in a kilt.

Yes, I was there. I left Tampa at 3:30 am drove to Ft. Lauderdale and competed in the Highland Games in the B division. It was a beautiful day, I did not catch any of the stage events, I was busy on the field. Left at 4:00 pm and drove back to Tampa, it made for a long Day....

I will be competing on Saturday in the Highland Games in B Division or if they have a novice division. Sunday I will compete in the Jr. Master if they have that division. I think it is a great idea to meet, I meat some great Xmarkers at St Mtn. We can Take pics of the group, so let's say Saturday at noon by the Athlete tent. Is that good for everybody?????
