    Edinburgh gathering - 2009

I am sure the recent strength of the dollar, now something like $1.65 to the £1 must make next year's gathering in Edinburgh a much more attractive proposition for many across the pond. Are many thinking of changing their minds and coming now after all? It should be a great occasion.

Aye, I'm planning to attend. The MacCallum Malcolm Clan Society will be having their AGM the following week at our Chief's home Duntrune Castle in Poltalloch. Redshanks has offered to show me more of the Argyll than the typical tourist would see.

But as far as the exchange rate, who knows what it will be in July, 2009!

I wish I could, however the Canadian dollar has recently plummeted even though it was at par just a few months ago. I am planning on coming over next year, however not for the gathering.

We had planned our trip for the end of August, but being out of work for two months has put a damper on life as we know it. But, if things change.........

I will definitely be there. Can not wait, I have been to Edinburgh before and can't wait to go back. Edinburgh is my favorite city outside of the US and I have been lucky enough to see quite a few cities. This should be a lot fun between the highland games, the parade and the events planned at the castle.

I am planning to go anyway, but the stronger dollar will make it nicer for me.
Is there going to be any kind of official Xmarks function there?

I've never been to Scotland so am looking forward to it.

It's on my bucket list. It kills me that I might have to skip Grandfather Mt., but these sacrifices are necessary

10 minutes after I posted, I got a call offering me a job. I accepted and start on 3 Nov. Now where is that map of Scotland?
