Frederick (MD) Celtic Festival & Games - 14th May 2005

Come to our Frederick (MD) Celtic Festival & Highland Games! It's Saturday, 14th May, at the Urbana MD Fire Dept. Grounds, on Rte 355, just off I-270 (from the I-270 exit for Urbana, go north [left] on 355 -- it's on the left side, next to the elementary school). It's about 50 miles south of Gettysburg, for you Pennsylvanians -- take US 15 south to I-270. Web site: http://www.sasmm.com/celtic_festival.htm . We'll be there!

    Slainte mhath!

    Cyndi,
Thanks for posting this. I am now going to reply to it to bring it back to the top. We have approximately 30 vendors and about 30 clans at our festival this year. Our headliner band is Birnham Wood. We will have Pro-AM highland games again this year. There are 6 two-men teams with one professional and one amatuer athelete. There are also kids games, a story teller, and a night concert with Birnham Wood playing again. There will be living history demonstrators. This years honored clan is Clan Cameron. So if there are any Cameron's on this board, the Clan Society is using this festival as a Clan Gathering. So far over 150 Camerons are coming.
Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.

Well I would, I certainly would. It would be a pleasure to meet one of the chief ladies of the board, but unfortunately I need to break in my new hiking boots a bit more before I attempt Arizona-Maryland.

David, thanks for the post. And thanks for mentioning the Clan Cameron rally. For more info, all you Camerons, Taylors, Clarks, etc., see http://www.clan-cameron.org/. You must register for some of the clan rally events by 7th May, so don't delay! Clan Cameron have invited Alan and me to produce a special clan goods catalogue, which I'm working on now.

Galant, you still have a week-and-a-half to get here!

I am planning on attending and the shotgun seat in the Xterra could be made available to anyone else interested in riding down with me.

I am in PA, Chester County, right along the Lancaster / Chester County border (Route 30 and Route 10). PM me if interested. It is not necessary to split gas costs, but that would not be turned down BUT, you MUST be kilted

Yep, we had the festival at the Beatty-Cramer House for several years. Last year we moved to Urbana to get more space for the athletics and bands. But the B-C House is still there. We live about 6 miles from it.
