The Gathering 2009

I was just wondering if anyone here will be going to the Gathering next year in Edinburgh. I will be there for sure. Have been planning this trip since I heard about it a year ago.

Oh, how I wish. We can only make 1 major trip about every 3-5 years and this time it needs to be to a nieces wedding on St Lucia. I'd much rather she did that at home so I could to to Scotland.

I really want to go at that time. If I can't I'll make the trip to Scotland within a years time after the Gathering.

I wanted to go, after hearing about it last summer, but with the way the economy is, and how weak the US dollar is, i wont be able to make it =( Ah well.

I sure hope all yall have the time of your lives. It should be spectacular.

I've been to Edinburgh during the Tattoo & Fringe Festival.... if they'd encircled it with a fence, it would've been the world's largest zoo. I can only imagine what The Gathering will be.

I can offer suggestions where to stay just outside Edinburgh, etc from a seasoned tourist's viewpoint, if there's interest. No need of taking up bandwidth if otherwise.

In either case, I'd sure book early - particularly your flight. Heaven knows how much more fuel is gonna cost 12 months from now.

It looks like I may be in Europe some time in 2009 hopefully with a stop in Scotland to revisit some places and some friends. However I think I will go early and see more with less of the crowds.

Yes, I will definitely be there. I hope all XMarkers present will find me on the Clan Farquhason section of the clkan parade and at our tent at the highland games.
