Going to the Queen Mary Games?

I have never been to the QM Games. As far as I can find out this is the first games of the season in So Calif. Several of us from the Kilted group in the Palm Springs/29 Palms Group are going Saturday and I will be wearing my new Official X Marks dandelion on me balmoral.
I hope to meet more X Markers there and share a Scottish beverage!

Sydnie, I am sorry to hear that you arn't going. I haven't gone before, mostly cause I was working and it seemed to happen so early, and with out being there, it seemed an odd location for Highland Games. I'll try it once and see.
I won't be going to Vista this year, it's my favorite, as I hope to be in Ireland for several weeks then, IF I can find and affordable flight.

Sydnie and I have found the QM games not to our liking. The way the clans are scattered around the ship makes for a very disjointed experience. The physical games are a long walk away from the ship. Then there are booths outside the ship on the shore. It is just too spread out with little in between. We really enjoy Vista and Ventura.

I would love to go to Ventura but it is always on the same weekend that I have an annual party and will probably never be able to go.

I'll be wearing the kilt in my avatar, muted Drummond of Perth, with either black or burgundy hose, ghillies, a blue/grey shirt, and perhaps a West Virginia cap.

The beer garden during the pipe band competition is where I'll be camped out.
