Great Guinness Toast
I haven't seen anything here about the Great Guinness Toast that will be held this Friday, 15 Feb, at bars all around. For those not familiar with the event, at a given point in time, everyone raises their glasses in a toast to Arthur Guinness. The bars count how many folks participated, and that gets reported to someone who totals up the number of people participating in the largest simultaneous toast. In the US it occurs at midnight eastern time, 11 pm central time, etc.
The date is also referred to as St. Practice Day.
Is anyone going out for it? I'll be at Paddy Coyne's in Tacoma.

past my bedtime (haha), but I do enjoy Paddy Coynes.
we should get a south sound Kilt night at Paddy's. I was planning on going there on St Patty's weekend, they have live music all day Sat & Sun.

A South Sound night would be a good idea. I've got a friend who just got his first kilt, and I'm sure he would be more comfortable on his first try in the company of others.

Hmm....is this just a regional thing? I've not heard of it either
If you didn't care what happened to me, and I didn't care for you. We would zig zag our way through the boredom and pain. Occasionally glancing up through the rain, wondering which of the buggers to blame, and watching for pigs on the wing.

The Great Guinness Toast
Started in Pittsburgh, PA in 1993 and soon spread across the nation. People
from all over raise a pint of Guinness at the exact same time, the largest
toast on record being 462,572 participants in 2001.
This will be my 10th year attending the toast.
