Highland Games pics
it's that time of year again and i have started doing the rounds. last weekend was the Turriff & District Pipe Band Championships and this weekend is Oldmeldrum Highland Games (or Meldrum Sports as it's more commonly known) and Aberdeen Highland Games.
i'll have pics and vids from both of these starting Sunday night.
in the meantime though, i thought i'd share some pics from the last games i went to as well as a couple of vids from the pipe band championships.
i hope you enjoy them. (click the thumbs for big pics)

A wonderful set of photos, keep them coming.

Would those gentlemen be Gordons? Isn't the chief referred to as the Cock o' the North?
I know the Gordons have a strong presence in the Aberdeen and Turrif areas. My own Barclays at one time held lands there at Towie.

yeah, they're The Gordons. the 3 big 'clans' at the gatherings such as Lonach are Gordon, Wallace and Forbes. Forbes and Gordon are the major clans in the Aberdeen area.
one of the Gordons is commemorated with a big statue in aberdeen
