how will we recognize each other?

I'm planning on attending at least three games this year, and have been wondering how I'd recognize fellow X-Markers. Then I remembered the dandelion plant badge. I'm off to the florist's to find a silk dandelion to go behind my clan badge. I was also wondering this: suppose someone didn't want to wear a dandelion, could he wear a saltire behind his clan badge, or perhaps a simple white X made of ribbon or something?
The first games I plan to go to is Loch Norman in April. Hope to see plenty of dandelions there!

Our group in the Chicago area was fortunate last year. One of our group was staffing a clan tent and we set that up as a meeting place. We also exchanged cell-phone numbers via private message.

Just keep posting here and I'm sure folks will respond. Like I'm going to attand the Stone Mountain games this year so I'll keep posting before hand to organize a meet up. I think setting one place to meet but set several different times during the games, this will allow most folks to meet up at a convenient time.

There are currently five ways an X Markser can identify a fellow Clan member.

    1) The wearing of the X Marks the Scot Tartan.
    2) The wearing of the X Marks the Scot Clan Crest Cap Badge either on the bonnet or as a Kilt Pin.
    3) The wearing of a Dandelion behind a Clan Crest Badge on a bonnet.
    4) The wearing of the Dirigible "Saltaire" Kilt Pin.
    5) The wearing of our Clan Mascot - The Rubber Chicken.

And please remember that if you see someone in a Kilt you can ask them if they are a member of our Clan. If they answer no, then it is a good chance to recruit a new member.

The SOKs developed a sixth for highland games - everyone stops in at least once at the RKilts (Canuck) and Canadian Casual Kilts (MacHummel) booths. Looking at pictures from different games, the other regional groups do the same. If you see it mentioned that Craftsman X will be a particular games, stop by his booth and say hello. Chances are that he can give you directions to where the Rabble is gathering.
I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.

I usually go casual for games and festivals, so I wear one of my Xmarks tee shirts. That has led to me meeting several members in Leesburg, Williamsburg and Richmond.

Jerry, no one can miss you under the bonnet as a Xmarker!

    Red ribbon

At the Stone Mountain Highland Games in Atlanta, we use a red ribbon held by the kilt pin to recognize each other.

Jump up & down, waving arms, screaming "Here I am, here I am"?

(just don't get too vigorous with the jumping... don't want anything to fly up)

This reminds me of the story when a penguin walks into a bar and asks "has my dad been in ?" and the barman replied "what does he look like?"
