    Chaplain Harris,

We use this blessing, attributed to St. Columba, at our Kirkin' service:

See that you be at peace among yourselves, my children,
    and love one another.
Follow the example of good men of old,
and God will comfort you and help you,
    both in this world
and in the world which is to come. Amen.

    Hope this helps!

    Regards,

    Todd

I'm an Orthodox priest, and we celebrate ours every Nov. 30th - however, Orthodox services are not like heterodox services, and probably would not be appropriate.

Keep up the good work, though!

I am a minister, but am very new to kilts and alot of the ceremony. I think it would be best if you could find a few examples and then write your own. I know that my prayers and services have always had more meaning to me if I wrote them. You might try a google search if you don't get enough info here. Although I believe you can probably get everything you need here!

Something to keep in mind: each Kirkin' service is as individual as the churches where they are held. As Prester John mentioned, an Orthodox Kirkin' is going to look somewhat different than a Presbyterian/Episcopalian/RC one, given the particular denomination's order of service. In the Episcopal Church, our Kirkins generally follow the service of Evensong from our Book of Common Prayer.

    Todd
