It looks like I am actually going to be able to attend the games this year for the first time in many years. I plan on being there on Sunday. I hope to run into some of you while I am there.

Thanks, Steve; keep 'em coming as the weekend progresses, please!

I've been very much wanting to be up in Lincoln this weekend; the weather has been spectacular/ideal.

BTW, I'm hoping to get some pix from a friend of mine who's w. RSCDS Boston; if I do, I hope she'll permit my sharing them here.

The weather at Loon Mountain contained the typical New England diversity. Friday Night the winds came through the notch and raised havoc with many of the tents. Several Clans were out in the open for Saturday and Sunday. Oh yeah - here comes some more pictures.

The mighty Pemegewasset River.

A concert tent full of sound, that can be heard in Lincoln.

A representative of the Royal Mile, in the Highlands of New Hampshire.
Notice the Steve Ashton pose.

Performer Charlie Zahm outside the Governor's Lodge.

This is one of the many Volunteers that make the games what they are, and yet after volunteering to serve in the Army, you would have thunk that he would think twice about "volunteering." He worked the information tent all three days right after his return from Iraq. The kilt is a digi-camo from Sportkilt.

Grade III piping competition 2/4 March, playing before the judge. Tartan is Derigo (State of Maine)

Grade III piping competition 2/4 March, knowing the performance was great.( First place)

Clan tents are a beehive of activity as new friendships are made and old ones renewed.

Pipe Band competition Band: Crann Tara, Tartan: the Scottish Rugby Union.
There is always one who has to dress differently from normal people.

Did I mention a very popular band from Alba was here?

The New Hampshire Highland Games had a very well attended games this year when all the tickets that were printed were sold out by Noon on Sunday, beating all previous attendance records.
I did meet two X-Markers that I could not photograph. Tullock was by the tent as Clan MacNeil formed up 61 members to march onto the Parade Ground for the opening ceremonies, attended by about 25,000 people.

See you in September 2010 on Loon Mountain.

Superb pictures, some interesting kilts there, especially the piping McNeil which appears to be a tad long and fringed to the wrong side and also that beautiful digi camo with matching sporran which the Iraq veteran is wearing. Nice also to see Steve Cunningham in one of the pics. I hope I can be there next year when the Clan Cunningham gathering is held at the same venue and dates.

That's Donnie aka Bullfrog, the piper for Albannach, he's wearing the full plaid in the albannach tartan.

Great pics Steve. Sorry we couldn't re-connect. We will have to get together in Boston. You might teach me some of the basics of researching my roots!

Sadly Tulloch was the only X-Marker I encountered.

But unfortunately we were on the chairlift ascending the mountain and he was on the ground.
