One Week till the Victoria Highland Games

Rabble and Rabbelettes,

There is only one Week till Victoria, BC Canada holds it's annual Highland Games and Celtic Fest.

As last year this is now a two day event with Saturday the Celtic Fest and Sunday the Highland Games proper.

16 & 17 May 2009 Topaz Park. (across from Mayfair Mall) 8:00am till 6:00pm both days

This is the 72nd year for this festival and Victoria is honored to be sponsoring the World Semi-final Highland Games. Team Canada v.s. Team USA.
Next year the World Finals will be held in Victoria.

Freedom Kilts will of course be there. Our tent is again this year double in size and we hope to surprise our friends with some new items.
We have given over a small corner of our tent to Big Mikey who will be showing "for the first time ever to the public" his hand knit Hose Toppers, Traditional Garter Ties, and some really nice t-shirts and hats.




As there are some who have contacted me that they plan to come over from the mainland and abroad I wanted to hold a Kilt Night.
But somehow the Bars and Pubs always seem to have too much noise to carry on a conversation.
So what I am proposing is, anyone who would like, may join Bobbie and I at our house on Friday the 15th of May. 7:00pm. We'll burn some meat, quaff some brew, and flap our lips till I have to get my beauty sleep for the games the next morning. If you don't know where we live just stop by the shop around 6:00pm and we'll all walk over together.

That sounds great! There is nothing like a feast at Casa Ashton! And just to tempt those who may not have made up their minds, I'll bring the burgers and the Maple Whisky! See you all there!
