    Philadelphia Scottish events

It used to be that the Dicken's Inn would host a Burn's Night supper, but one of the changes which has occurred with the switch to the Dark Horse is this seems to no longer exist. I think the St. Andrew' Society has a Highland ball, but they are rather snotty. Anyway, as Groucho Marx said "I wouldn't belong to a club that would have me as a member"--especially them.

Anyone know of Centre City Scottish events, such as Burn's Nights? I get messages from the Celtic Cultural Alliance, but most of their stuff is outside of Philadelphia.

I don't know of any "center city" Scottish events specifically. Do you have a copy of the Irish Phonebook (Mid Atlantic Celtic Directory)? The have a listing of MANY highland games (and dates) in the Philly Area.

If you're up for something THIS weekend, we're having the Phoenixville Celtic Street Fair tomorrow from 10 to 6:

No, I don't have a copy of that book. Unfortunately, the car is at the country house these days and having me longing for the old Reading rail road, which I believe passed through Phoenixville. It would beat the drive up the surekill, although I do like road 23. 23 is too long a drive.
