    Rhino Games - Exeter, Ca - 3/8/08

I think I'm going to attend!

About 45 min north of Bakersfield, near Visalia the Rhino Games look like something I do as an easy one day trip.

From their flyer this looks like a fun event! Kilted tiki lounges (Ron, I know it's a bit far but they are ENCOURAGING Hawaiian shirts with kilts - Hamish, stay away!)

Really though, I am especially looking forward to this game for one simple reason. Their "challenge" or fun event is an ANVIL TOSS! How can you beat that? That's plain and simply the best thing ever. They are giving away little anvils as trophy's too.

For those interested, here is the information.

.. the kilt had concealed a blaster strapped to one thigh and a knife to the other. He was aware of the present gentle customs against personal weapons, but he felt naked without them. Such customs were nonsense anyhow, foolishment from old women - there was no such thing as "dangerous weapons," only dangerous people.

    ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH....

I was gonna go. I was *determined* to go to Rhino this year. Then the Cloaked in Midnight Joan starting sniffling and giving me the eye about not getting to go XC skiing this year. Upshot was, I OK'd a ski trip and she booked us on the ski bus the Sunday right after these Games. The bus picks us up at the corner of X and Y streets, one town north of our house, at 4:30 AM, sunday.

I don't think I'm going to the Rhino Games. But I'm scamming on a couple of guys to make a done-day blast trip to Bakersfield.

Argh! Isn't that just the way it works though? Rhino has everyone competing on the same day too, so even with different classes we would have been on the field together.

Well I will see you in Bakersfield then I guess.

Get this though - this is how much my wife rocks.
I told her about Rhino on Saturday and she says "Isn't Calaveras that weekend too? We could drive up the rest of the way Saturday night and you could compete there Sunday."

Downside is no athletics at Calaveras from what I can see. =(

yup, Calaveras is that weekend. It's at the Sonora Fairgrounds this year, and it's a GREAT Festival.. I went three years ago to see Wolfstone and I loved it, just haven't gotten back to the venue, yet.

That your Lady wants to go to both is pretty amazing.

Great Tim! See you there. I will be accompanied by the wife and also my niece and nephew, so look for our tent.

We will have a blue topped EZ Up bordering the athletic field I expect.
