| | | 2007 Earthday at Honeymoon island...
We went to the Earth Day festival at Honeymoon Island thi past weekend and had a great time. Lots of good food and some nice exhibits, but nowhere near as Earth friendly as I would have imagined. Way too many disposable products( plates, cups, napkins, etc.), and limited recycling facilities or encouragement.
Anyway, I got a good pic or 2 of myself appreciating the music of Urban Gypsies, in true Florida style. I am trying to define kilt wearing in Florida, and this is a good example during most of the year. Of course, there are 3-4 days a year where we need to wear socks and shoes and a shirt with sleeves!

Aye,
You have me jonesing for Arizona's summer...apparently temporarily on hold for retribution from the weather Gods for something we did wrong recently.
And, yeah, what's with plastic wrist bands and plastic cups for Earth Day festivities...??
And, in the heat, the most comfy way to dress is just a kilt....

I can appreciate the comments about too many disposable products. after all i was an "Earth Day" Celibration. I have some strong feelings about that myself. That is why I dispise throw away cameras. ... But it looks like you had a nice time. Glad you enjoyed yourself

Nice picture, shame about the disposable Earth Day, I hope it gets that warm up here soon.

C152T, Honeymoon Island is an island that was made into a state park. It is named Honeymoon Island because many years ago, it did have a small resort on it where newlyweds would come to honeymoon. Here is a link to some more information http://www.floridastateparks.org/honeymoonisland/
A very pretty place to visit, although the beach can be a bit rocky.

That old thing? Why it's Navy Stewart, of course!
Here is another pic:
It is one of my favorite kilts, goes with almost anything. Rocky ran a special last year on any tartan from Marton Mills (and I don't even remember what the special was at this point, just another excuse to buy more kilts for me). A few of us jumped on it, Riverkilt was another one, and I (with my wife's input) ordered one in the Navy Stewart and one in the Cladish, seen here:
A dark beach pic:
And a better shot of the tartan:
