Congratulations, but - uh - what is a beer plating?
Regards,
Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

Hi Melissa,
Although I am a beer drinker, I know nothing about plating. Please tell all.

The Flying Saucer awards one a plate with their name on it once you have tasted 200 different beers. They call it their UFO club. I really should have given more details since I just learned of it myself! Their site is here:

Now, go enjoy some beers!

Thanks Melissa - That's a really great idea. The pub wins; the drinker wins. What more could anybody want.
Regards
Chas

Congrats to Wolfhawk! When in downtown Houston, I sometimes make a point to visit our Flying Saucer. Greats beers and food! And, their trivia contest is quite the challenge!

Sorry I missed that event. But I was at the Flying Saucer in Addison at the same time, working my way towards my own plate.

Rex,
They have a pub in Houston called Flying Saucers, where you can order a plate of beer with samples from all over the world...The glasses are about 6oz's in size and you can order different varieties like:
Taste of Texas: Beers micro-brewed in Texas
Round the World: The top 5 rated beers
Dark to Light: or visa versa
It's a very cultural experience.
