    Talking 2010 Texas Ren Fest opening weekend

    Well, my computer has been down for a couple of weeks, but things are up and running now! Some of the Girltorage and I went to opening day of the Texas Renaissance Festival (10/9) It was a nice sunny day and as usual I took a bunch of photos;

    My wife Shelley and I in our Bluebonnet themed outfits.

    We weren't the ony co-ordinated couple, check out these aloha print outfits...

    My friends Sindy and Sandy

    Some fairy folk try to figure out why that human child is on a leash...

    Here's one for the 'historic accuracy' buffs, a lady in chopines, platform shoes. I give her points for historical and dangerous footwear! Although they were handy that morning since somebody overdid it with the water truck.

    And here's one of the ubiquitous Starfleet away teams...

    And of course my faire visit isn't complete without a Circa Paleo show!

    Here's some of the usual suspects at our clan meet-up.
    Order of the Dandelion, The Houston Area Kilt Society, Bald Rabble in Kilts, Kilted Texas Rabble Rousers, The Flatcap Confederation, Kilted Playtron Group.

    Hey, I saw Circa Paleo this summer at the Pennsic War In Pennsylvania. They were great (and I listen to their CD alot) Middle Kingdom had them for one of their camp parties.
    who made the aloha tartan outfits? very fun!

    Thanks guys We always have a good time and I like sharing the photos. I am sorting a bunch of good shots from last weekend when the theme was 1001 Dreams, or Fairy weekend as we call it. I'll get them up soon.

    Wish we could get down there this year but Amy's request is San Antonio for the parade on the Friday after Thanksgiving and we aren't sure how well it will work getting to the fair the next morning.

    I believe the Aloha patterned people are the McCrackens. They participated in Margaret's Court (Henry VIII sister I believe) up here at Scarbourgh.

    Great pics, Zardoz! I went this past weekend... I think I saw you on Saturday, but was hunting for someone so didn't have a chance to say hi. Lots of fun!
