5-27-08 Club Meeting
Hello Folks,
Last evening the club (Jacobites: Scottish Club of Lakeland, FL) I started las August had our monthly meeting. Unfortunately I was the only one kilted, but I'm trying to correct that. I wore my 2nd DIY kilt for the meeting and the club loved it.
We had a great time with the all the foods from the Isles that we each prepared and the video "Battle of the Clans" that I exposed them to. I set up some displays; one with my other kilts & accessories, maps, and of course a host of books to look through.
I feel as though I'm developing a sort of adult enrichment course that is Scottish culture based. Anyway, here are some of the pics:
Here's the Selkirk Bread I baked the night before.

Nearly gone Shepherds Pie. I've had Shepherd's Pie before, but this was the best version I've ever had.

Mashed taters...

Irish O'garlic Sausage. Now My favorite sausage by the way.

Golden Heather Chicken. This was really good.
Thanks for looking folks!

Wish I were closer I'd join up in a heartbeat, looks like a wonderful time, have you introduced them to the wonder that is Haggis, if not you really should.

Looks like you had quite the spread! I'm jealous. Now you just have to convert them all into kilties.
Thanks for the pics.
