5-Yard Isle of Skye

My new 5-yard 16 oz/yd wool kilt arrived today from The Scotland Kilt Company.
It is a well made kilt, with two buckles and two belt loops, and is a good fit.

The obligatory pleats shot.

The kilt arrived just in time to be worn this evening to the Housing Association Christmas Dinner.
Kilt hose with garters are going to be a no go area for me for a while following the deep vein thrombosis, so it will be either scrunched down hose, or soccer socks which are part lycra and are self supporting. I must visit the sports shop and buy some soccer socks in darker colours.

very nice kilt! You look wonderful! Congrats on the new kilt. You will probably find a good variety of soccer socks that will fit your needs.

It is a wonderful tartan even with the orange soccer socks. Well done. I was wondering could you not wear kilt hose without the garters? I often do that when dressing casual.

Very nice looking kilt. Is it a box pleat?

It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Nice kilt! I'm also a fan of The Scotland Kilt Company; good value, eh?
