    ABF Ties

This thread is for pictures of Xmarkers wearing their Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) regimental ties... and of course kilts!

We have a bit of a "chain" going with the ties (see here) but this thread is meant to include anyone with an ABF tie. The proceeds from sales of this tie go to a worthy charity and anyone can purchase one here in silk or here in polyester (less expensive).

To start things off, here are a couple pics of me in Douglas modern with my ABF tie (courtesy of Jock Scot and KFCarter through the tie "chain").

What a great suggestion! What a great charity! What a great thread!

OK... ok.... I'm just a matchy kind of bloke.

I tried hard not to but the ABF tie is a natural match for my Lindsay Double Box (Cheers Chrystel)

Aww cummon, I had a tattersall shirt on (although you can't tell in the slightly over exposed pictures), and Navy Hose (No dark blue in the Lindsay)... You don't understand what internal conflict and personal strife I had to struggle though for an ex Army Bloke to put Navy socks on!! but the flashes go so well too and and ...

    Verdict?? FAIL!! Too Matchy...

Still think it looks good though, despite the slightly squonk spozz.

By the way. If anyone likes the RBL poppy lapel pin (I have several and wear them all year round) you can get them here at The Poppy Shop for three quid each. Buy a few and save on postage, probably.

    Best Regards John

John, you got my vote. After all you used what you had available in your closet.
