After Scotland - York!
Coming back from our Scottish foray, Mum and I spent a couple of nights in York so thought I would share some piccies taken on the journey from Scotland and there also. I was kilted throughout so that's my excuse!
Bamburgh Castle taken from Seahouses, Nothumberland.

The Farne Islands taken from Seahouses, Nothumberland. This was where the famous Grace Darling did her rescue of the Forfarshire.

Seahouses Harbour.

St Martin-Le-Grand in York. This church was very much a phoenix from the ashes as it was very badly damaged by bombing in WW2.

Happy looking gargoyles at St Martin-Le Grand.

Stained glass window in St Martin-Le-Grand. I love stained glass and have amassed a large series of photographs from many places.

More to come!
Reverend Earl Trefor the Sublunary of Kesslington under Ox, Venerable Lord Trefor the Unhyphenated of Much Bottom, Sir Trefor the Corpulent of Leighton in the Bucket, Viscount Mcclef the Portable of Kirkby Overblow.

Lovely pics once again, Trefor. I've flown out over the Farne Islands a couple of years back but wasn't successful in getting any good aerial pics. Must try again sometime. Lindisfarne is the most accessible, being closest to the mainland and reachable by car over the causeway at low tide, and the priory is open to visitors.

i just want to express how grateful i am for all the pics of the celtic lands that get posted. especially to cessna152towser, McClef, and Derek. you guys are awesome. i have not been there in over 10 years, and even then i didn't get to see nearly all that i wanted. i could search the web and use Google to find pictures, but those would be too generic and manufactured. don't get me wrong, i find those polished works beautiful as well, but after a time they all start to look the same. what you guys do is show us from a more down to earth and native perspective. i want so bad to get back over there; but in the mean time, i can sustain myself on a steady diet of the pictures you guys capture.
thanks again
