The evening actually began with a commemoration at the Macrae Monument, at Sheriffmuir -

Ken Schirra, Grand Prior of the Scottish Knights Templar performing the service

Then it was back to the Sheriffmuir Inn for the festivities -

Author David Ross, getting involved in the frivolity

If you pull out your map and draw a line from Bridge of Allan, NNE to Braco, Sheriffmuir is right there in the middle.

First time I was there I found it by flipping a coin on where to travel from Edinburgh with a full tank of petrol.

Indeed. I'm ready to go back.

When I go across, I stay east of Stirling, in the Alloa/Tillicoultry area. A pal that lives up near Dunblane picks me up at the airport and delivers me again. So I always make sure to take him and his good lady to dinner whilst there. And the Sheriffmuir Inn is definitely a good place for that.
