All go last weekend ...

It was all go from Fri eve till mon.
Hope you guys dont get bored with all this ...
Fri eve we set off on the bus down the town to look at the Christmas lights and go to Winter Wonderland
So .. we took to the bus too start


Then when we got off we headed up a street towards the castle

Then we got to the Castle ...


The lights around the castle walls were designed by various youth clubs around the city. They each had their own .. there were far more the other side of the castle




The lights in the distance is where we are heading ... the big wheel on the right lit up and the city hall clock on the left

We detoured first and walked down another street




Then we eventually got back on track


And we started homing in on our goal

The forth pic in first post look just as being taken in my town. But the street with same light over street is closed for cars, making it nice for walking under artificial "blue sky".

There is an open air ice rink that is set up especially for Christmas and is extremely popular .. you have to book at least a week in advance to get a ticket to skate and its open from 11am till 11pm .. people as far away as Bristol, Glouscester, Hereford all come because it is the only place you can come and skate outdoors for quite a distance ..




Apart from soaking up the atmo and having some mulled wine we were heading for the big wheel

We got to the big wheel, bought our tickets and waited


Then we eventually got on .. the queue stretched for several hundred yards .. it was a long wait but worth it.

The Ice Rink from above .. every 45 min or so they have to get everyone off and re ice and smooth the top with the machine in the pic .. takes bout 10/15mins
