Ann Update - Ann Outing
The day might not be too long off when Ann will be able to come home from hospital. Later on Thursday morning, after I had already set off for Spain, Ann was brought to the house by two occupational therapists, for home assessment, her first time out of the hospital in 2008. Then on Saturday afternoon when I arrived back from Spain I was able to take her out briefly to the local market which is held next to the hospital.

This afternoon the spring weather continued and I was able to take Ann out of the hospital to the park for a couple of hours; this rather fuzzy photo is the first one of 2008 to show the two of us together.

Ann is seen here admiring the statue of the late Steve Hislop, motor cycle race champion.

Ann sends a smile for all our friends at xmarks from outside the cafe.

Ann admires the spring flowers.

Just to zoom in on those crocuses and share them with you.

On the other side of the path, we look across the River Teviot just above the Hawick Cauld, with Hawick High School across the river and the Millers Knowes on the horizon.

How is the weather there for this time of year?
These past few days the weather has been fairly calm, with light frost at nights, and clear sunny days, with temperature rising to 13c 55f during the day, which is really quite pleasant after all the gales, snow, sleet and rain of January, although it feels quite cold to me after spending a couple of warm sunny days in southern Spain last week. Today was the first day since early November that I have hung a washing outside to dry - for the past three months even on a sunny day the sun simply didn't get high enough in the sky to provide much heat.

Glad to hear of Ann's improvements. The crocuses are a welcome sight, and Ann's ride is "da bomb," very snazzy.
Regards,
Rex.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
