Another weekend whizd by ...

Rob (Lincs) came to stay for the weekend. Fri eve was our folk club night, so Rob was able to meet up with Trefor as well. It was a really good turn out again. We seem to be filling up the hall more every month.

As we were packing up and putting away everything ...


Trefor deep in conversation with some of the girls just before we were gonna lock up .. the young lady in the middle of the pic with a guitar on her back played and sang a few songs that she wrote herself .. she was really brill .. she said she was looking forward to the next meeting and was going to bring quite a few friends along as well ...

Sat morning and Rob and myself took off at 8.30am .. it was only us going as everyone else including Elaine were already commited to doing other things.

So it was on a bus and off to find the illusive 'Goose and Cuckoo' ..
Not long after we got off the bus we crossed the canal .. pic taken on the canal bridge


And a pic of the pic Rob was taking .. its a lovely part of the world ..


Then we went on our way in search of the 'goose'


Then it tried to throw us off the track


But we were'nt fooled and found another clue ..

Eventually we found it after a long up hill trek, (I knew where it was cause I been loads of time .. did'nt tell Rob though) .. There's no pub sign another than pics of a goose


We immediately went in and had a choice of ..


Then we sank one .. mine was the rev jame and I think Rob had the Youngs


Then while Rob went outside to take a couple of pics and use the loo I ad a quiet moment to myself and sank another one. Just after he came back about 8/9 women arrived on a walking trip ... a couple of them said how good it was to see some men in cilts/kilts out hiking.

There are plenty of very old prints on the walls of the place and surrounding area ... here is the goose with the family who lived in it way back ... they were selling beers then though you would never have thought it.


After another few pics and a trip to the loo we set off through the forestry ..

Sunday was off on another walk, a lunch and another walk (with beers inbetween)

We made a cutoot of Rob


Then me as well ... I was already there, Elaine took me out the cupboard.


Then the real 'us' took of again ..


By the time we got to the first pub and sunday lunch it was becoming very overcast


Inside its nice and cosy...


Don't seem to have any more pics from that day, even though we walked to a few more pubs before we came home.

Finally, Elaine became a cutoot as well just before we were gonna have some supper
