Autumn in the Park with a Red Haired Lass

Gabrielle is here for a week from Nuremberg in Germany which is Glasgow's twin city.

Here we take a break from watching the salmon leaping the cobble cauld. At this point there is a dam at the entrance to an old mill lade which the salmon leap at this time of year on the way upriver for spawning.

Further upriver the autumn leaves are falling in the park.
I am wearing my USA Kilts semi-trad in Hunting MacLeod tartan.

Still mild enough for the last of the midges to be out yet cold enough to need to huddle together!

Gabrielle admires the statue of Jimmy Guthrie, motor cycle rider from Hawick who was killed at the German Grand Prix in 1937.

Gabrielle at the statue of Hawick born motor cycle rider Steve Hislop who was killed in a helicopter crash in 2003.

Kilts and red haired lassies - I recall a thread a few years back about how kilt wearing men and red-haired lassies seem to be drawn to one another.

That's all folks!

Great pictures Alex. But you certainly don't need an excuse to cuddle with such a bonnie lass.
If you can avoid it never get into a fair fight.

Great photos on a sunny autumn day Alex, and you look very happy. Did you see many fish running the cauld there on the Teviot? I'm fishing the Tweed in a couple of weeks so hopefully there will be plenty about.
