I have a lot of kilted photos I like, but this is by far my favorite:
I have this one printed in an 8" x 10", framed on the mantle in our living room.
It was taken Sept 2004, at the wedding of my brother-in-law to his lovely bride. My wife (pictured) was one of the bride's maids.
I remember when we drove down to Atlanta for the wedding, I had packed both kilt and pants. I asked my brother-in-law the evening before if he'd like me to wear the kilt or not. (It wasn't a Scottish wedding, and I didn't want to steal attention away from
their day). He immediately said that he would consider it a huge honor if I wore my kilt.
Being the only one kilted there, I did get some attention, but of course the day was about the bride and groom. During the wedding, I spent most of the time in the back of the church with my son, who was at the time 6 months old. My daughter was a flower girl, so both she and my wife were in the wedding party.
Afterwards, at the reception, I did get a lot of good comments about the kilt. This is the same kilt that I wore in my own wedding, so it was special to also be able to wear it to celebrate the wedding of two other lovely people.
Why is it my favorite pic? Well, it has my favorite person in it (and no, I'm not talking about myself!). And I think the composition is particularly lovely with the colors both in our outfits and the background.
