    Bladnoch Distillery

Leaving Threave Castle I rode the Goldwing on to Wigtown which besides being close to the distillery is also known as "Scotland's Book Town" due to the number of its bookshops.

    The Mercat Cross.

    The former County Building.

The Goldwing parked against the backdrop of Wigtown buildings.

After taking the wrong direction due to confusing signposting and returning to Wigtown for directions I finally got to the distillery.

They love using old casks for decoration.

The Goldwing in the distillery car park.

    More old casks.

    More to come!

What a treat. In the US you can't find the quaint old distilleries. We have giants like Makers Mark, Jim Beam, etc... They are all huge and a tour is usually seeing mass production lines like Budwiser.

Great pics! It looks like a great little road trip. Nice bike, too. The Goldwing seems like it's as big as most British cars!

Very nice Trefor. Good for you for finding the distillery. We loved Wigtown but due to the "confusing signage" we never did find Bladnoch.

    Thanks for the pictures.

Confusing signage in the UK? Say it isn't so!

Wandering around the hedgerow lanes in Cornwall, we swore they had never fixed the signs that were turned 'round to confuse the expected German invasion of 1940s. . . love it when you get to a crossroads, and none of the four posted towns are shown on your map!

P.S. We have had best luck with the Michelin map books. AAA and others were worse than useless.

P.P.S. Great pics, thanks! Takes me right back. . .

Oh come on! Those Cornish signs were removed to confuse the GI's as well as the Germans!

Great pictures. When I saw the subject, I figured either you or Cessna had been out taking photos to make the rest of us jealous.

    Thanks.
