    Buffalo NY Kilt Night

Here's a pic from last night's inaugural Buffalo Kilt Night at Darcy McGee's.
Left to right it's me as the Dyslexic Scot (Red Robertson over UK), Kevin/Hosehead in County Laois, Keith/possingK in SportKilt (didn't catch the tartan), and Ugly Bear in MacPherson. Yes, I know UB has a real name, and he introduced himself using it, but I'm terrible at names - I'm amazed I remembered the other two. But I've forgotten their wives' names ... actually I remember one wife's name, but I can't remember which wife that name went with ...

    Anyhow, the photo is here.
(EDIT) Or here. I was going to post the actual image, but it's a little too large.

Oh, and MacHummel - I'm afraid the postal service still has my Canadian Casual Kilt. But I should I have for next time.;)

I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.

    Great shot.

Doubt any of you were teased.
Really like your look of tartan shirt over plain kilt. Do that a lot myself with Utilikilts.

None of us, to my knowledge, was teased. It's an Irish(-style) pub, I mean. At least we were dressed for it. Which is more than we can say for the others ... especially the 30 Santa Clauses that flooded the pub shortly before we parted ways. (Yes, this happened. Really.)

Next time, I'll have my Ireland's National USAK. (It's in the mail now. I can feel it, getting closer...closer...........)

Thanks to Wompet, Hosehead and PossingK, wives and family.

Amusing story of the evening (from memory, details probably wrong):

One of the Kilt Night gents and his wife were in a line for something or other in Buffalo that Friday, the gent kilted, naturally. An elderly woman in line behind them asked the gent, "Excuse me, but will you be playing tonight?"

His wife turned to say, "He doesn't play the bagpipes."

The elderly woman continued, "Oh, no, not that. I'd read in the paper that there is a band from Ireland playing here tonight. Will you be singing with them?"

The band the woman read about was U2.
