| | Burns Night in Conyers, Georgia
I guess I should have posted the pictures here.
I thought you might like to see some of the details from our evening.
The star of the show, the haggis, came in dressed for business. While it looks pretty OK right now, it was a mess when we got through with it.
Gilmore tries to figure out how to use a dirk without getting haggis on it.
Cgrinder addresses the haggis.
David toasts the lassies in fine fashion.
Ms. CavScout responds to the toast. (She is even more charming in person than she is in writing here.)
Nixphotography reads his selection of Burns poetry.
As does Gilmore.
Mr. and Mrs. CavScout laugh at The Scot's attempts at a Scottish brogue.
SouthernScot awaits the haggis's arrival.
Just thought you'd want to see more.
Slainte.

Last night was a great time. I want to tell Jim one more time what a great job he did organizing this whole affair and meeting each of the guys was a true pleasure.
The evening was filled with some great conversation as we all shared bits about ourselves and the things that make our Scott's heritage an love of the kilt special to us.
The time seemed to fly before we realized it was after 10:00.
The words of Robert Burns were read by several of the guys, and Gil led us all in a chorus of a couple as well. Thanks to Chris for reading "My Heart is in the Highlands", one of my favorites that I had wanted to read but forgot to bring. The night would not have been complete without it.
Looking forward to getting together with you guys again, and hope the rest of our Georgia members can gather with us in the future.

Gentlemen, (Mrs. C here.)
I had a wonderful time at the Burns' dinner last night. Jim, thank you for all you did to put this together. It was great meeting everyone. It was a very entertaining, informative and enjoyable time. You all acted like perfect gentlemen. Maybe now I will let Cavscout out alone.
I hope to meet more of the wives another time.

Looks like you lot had a great time and it's good to see all of your smiling, haggis-smeared faces! Party on!

I hope to meet more of the wives another time. | Thank you, Mrs. CavScout. You certainly added a bit of needed class to the group.
Fact is, Mrs. CavSc out and my wife were the only lassies willing to brave the rabble, and my wife was at a wedding most of the time. We were about to go through town drafting lassies for the toast and response when the Cav and his date arrived, but that turned out to be unnecessary. SouthernScot was organizing a raid on a local ice skating clan to kidnap women (mothers of children who were skating) when the lassie showed up.
Maybe CavScout can come out and play now that you see what a great lot of fine fellows we are.
