Canada Day & Independence Day Pics

Let's see your Kilted pics from your outings on this years Canada Day (July 1) or US Independence Day (July 4) holidays!

For me, Canada Day usually involves taking in the Osborne Street Festival here in Winnipeg. The Osborne Village here has many "interesting" shops and many varied styles of restaurants. Thousands of people wander through the local shops and street vendors, or watch all manner of street performers. It's always a good time with lot's of things to see, eat, and drink.

Being a hot day I opted to go really casual, with t-shirt, Workman Utilikilt, and sandals. It was way to busy to get a picture in the crowd, so my wife to this one on a side street away from the madness.

Three bonus points to any movie buff that "get's" the t-shirt.

And while walking the strip a sidewalk artist called out to me, commenting on how she loved Utilikilts. So I let her draw the following picture. I like it!

Let's see some of your pictures...

Sadly, I wasn't kilted for Canada Day. On a spur of the moment decision, Karen and I drove our Essex hotrod into Winnipeg for the Mopar club's car show in Kildonan Park. Had we actually planned the trip in advance I would have called to let you know.

It was a perfect day for a kilt, too. However, I've discovered that kilts and "suicide doors" on a car are not the best combination. I have yet to find a way to exit the Essex (wow, try saying that 5 times quickly) without flashing people.

Great drawing, btw! I know the shirt, but darned if I can recall the movie this early in the morning.
