| | | Carolina Kilt from SC in NC!
Here is the promised pic of my recently finished Carolina Tartan Kilt.
It was taken on Tartan Day at Bridal Falls, just north of Highlands, North Carolina. on the road to Frankiln, NC.

Sorry for the wrinkles, I had just driven from Clinton (where I live) and hour to Greenville, South Carolina, then another couple hours to get where the pic was taken.
They "fell out" fairly quickly.
16 oz worsted wool is GREAT stuff!!!!! The tartan material itself is the remnant of a custom run for a pipe band made through the Scottish Tartan Museum by Lochcarron. I got lucky and got some of it from Matt.
By the way, the kilt is a Wages-made hand sewn one. (Made by me)
I am wearing a prototype Dreadbelly Special on my head. He was (at my request) experimenting with a woven in drawstring, as described/mentioned/referenced in some old contemporary descriptions of Highland bonnets. If interested, I have close-ups of that too.

The combination looks very good. I have one of Dreadbelly's tams on my "Jones" list, too.

Isn't it odd how one looks at their own pics/work tougher than others?
Remember, That is AFTER 3 hours driving (in a manual car). It looks more catawompt than it should/does normally. It hangs straighter (not the diagonal of the pic).
I'll bet more pics up soon. (I need to figure out how to plug my wife's camera into my computer-> first, have to bet my hands on the camera, as she keeps it on her person most of the time . . .)

Amazing driver. Don't get in the car unless you appreciate fine driving.
I could see how car sickness could be a problem for some who ride along.
One of the few cagers I have met that has an absolute amazing awareness of the road around them.

Meh, the pictures I took really don't do it justice. The colours, the look, the whole kilt looks so much better in person. Lots of hidden details. The material is fantastic.
MacWage is quite skilled at his craft, I assure you.
And the darn thing swings like a church bell.
I need a box pleat.
