Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Fredericksburg
I took the afternoon off from my day job to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. I started downtown Fredericksburg at the new Capital Ale House. My first time there and received a warm welcome from the lass here. I wore my St. Patrick tartan Newsome box pleat. Right I wearing a flat cap, a Hanna from Donegal.

As I checked out the place, I heard my name called. Turning I found Jim and Suzie enjoying their lunch. I hadn’t seen them for a few years. Jim said it was the kilt that made him realize he knew me.
The bar has an ice rail pictured to the right where you can place your drink to keep it cold.

As I was enjoying my lunch at the bar, the lass below came up to me and said she knew me. It took some thinking and we realized we had been co-workers at Wally World. The server who took the photo didn’t believe the story of us working together and said the lass just had a thing for men in kilts.

I ended my afternoon at the new Fredericksburg Pub, my favorite. The kilted staff just is so appreciative of their kilted customer. These lovely lasses we kind enough to let me tell them stories about my time in Ireland and trips to Scotland.

My red haired lass, Fiona waiting for me at home would be in need for a walk. I headed home to take care of her and escape from the madness that soon would befall on all drinking establishments this evening.

Mael,
I thought about you on St. Patrick's Day (I celebrated in the dentist's chair by getting a shiny brand new filling and then spending the rest of the day fighting a rather annoying head cold). But I wondered how some of the other rabble might be celebrating, and I thought to myself, "I bet Ern is wearing his St. Patrick tartan today!" :-)
Cheers!
