    CelticFest Vancouver 2007

Well, I just got home and caught up on all the news and thought I best get these loaded before the day is gone. The parade was great, the rain held off and it wasn't too warm. I don't know if it's my size or my good looks but I was asked to pose for pics by more tourists than I could count!! And nothing but compliments from all, boy, what an ego boost! Anyway, here's some shots from today.

The Irish National, casual, locked and loaded.

The Vancouver City Police motorcycle drill team.

    The Irish Regiment Pipe Band.

    The Vancouver Police Pipe Band.

    Some fine highland dancers.

    A paddy wagon for leprchauns!

    The Seaforth Highlanders Pipe Band.

And some riffraff in one of the pubs.

All in all, a grand day. Oops, did you hear that? I could have sworn I heard a Guinness calling just now. There it goes again. Sorry lads bu......

Excellent pictures, and great to see so many kilts
    But that last picture
And some riffraff in one of the pubs.

Doesn't that guy on the right wearing the dark green aran sweater look just like Derek.

Just met him today. Gordon Kirkbright. Not sure if he's tied to the weavers though.

Great group of pics! I sure wish Calgary had a St. Patrick's day parade.

Btw...nice to see Bear in that last photo.

It is good to see Terry (Bear) looking so well, and Raphael too. As for that lad, Nathaniel: still playing on that Game-Boy contraption I see! I have not knowingly met Gordon, but yes, I believe he IS the weaving gentleman!

It was a fun day!!! I met up with the gang at around 10:30 because Rudi of Celtic Empire invited us to join the parade. He wanted as many kilted folks to march with him as he was escorting the Parade Grand Marshall - Ashley McIssac.

Although our lunch was a different matter. We went to a new Irish Pub for lunch and the service was a little slow. Fortunately we had some good conversation. The lunch was so slow that we missed the performance by Ashley.

I will loaded the pictures once I found my usb cable for the camera.

Oh yeah, Ham, Nathaniel is still playing on his Game Boy. Except for school, he rarely leave home without it. And you right about Gordon as well. He is the man behind the colourful tartan.
