    Chatsworth Country Fair

With around 350 trade stands, lots of DIY activities, this is well worth a visit, despite the cost. (£17, Sat & Sun, £15 Fri.) You can, fish, shoot everything from catapults through muzzle loaders to crossbows, jump your dog, ride or learn how to drive donkeys or just watch the displays. You need all day to get round it, but depending on your wishes you need to chose your day because the program changes.

The red Arrows were taken Friday, from outside the show ground, the rest on Saturday.

    Lift off

    Making an entrance.

    Red White and Blue

This was their first display after their recent tragic loss.

    Red Arrows solo

The lengths some people will go to to avoid the entrance fee.

    REME Band.

It's been a hard day and it's not even lunch time yet.

    Faces in the crowd.

    And some more fro Chatsworth.

They did say bring the family.

    Scurry driving is very competitive.

    Size is no object.

Solo piping attracts a couple of viewers.

The dance Dads. I am quite confident that mine was the only kilt not associated with either dancing or piping.

The river provides an attractive lunchtime picnic site.

Some people like to get around at the show.

There's no shortage of entertainment for all ages.

Aerobatics with Stephen Carver and Gary Ferriman.

    Chatsworth Charm continued

    Aerodynamic ears.

She didn't make the jump, nor did her dog.

Unfortunately there was not a fox in sight.

They were invited into the ring to view the hounds.

    There's always one.

Highland dancing was relegated to a side stand, fortunately all you had to do was listen for the pipes.

    Hang on up there.

    Practice makes nearly perfect.

He played all day for the dancers.

    Chatsworth Finale

    Lots of modern machinery.

For the benefit of the transatlantic rabble.

there was no shortage of loos to provide a photographic backdrop.

    Interesting skirt.

Scottish liqueur from Perth. I managed a few samples before they caught on, but the kilt was kind of conspicuous. I can recommend the drink though.

Rather her than me, especially in a kilt.

They arrived with the scurry drivers, courtesy of H.M. the Queen but didn't complete the course.

    In case we're needed.

What a great looking County Fair, looks like you had a great and full day tpa. I don't blame you for needing a few drams (and seeing they were freebies) why not. Thanks for sharing your day with us.
