    CIBC Run for the Cure

Anna and I took part in the local Run for the Cure for breast cancer on the weekend. We raised over $500,000 locally and $33 million across the country. We always run in our Sportkilts, and we get a lot of good comments. My wife is a distance runner, so this is a fun workout for her, but it's a lot of work for someone like me.

    Our team: The Island Breaststrokers

Anna and I before the run.

A piper along the route. She was part of the piping contingent from our band that played before the run, and then she went out on the route to keep our spirits up.

Congratulations on the money raised!! Running in a kilt seems like fun. I use to run marathons (no longer, due to a hip replacement), but if I was still able to do so, I'd run in a sport kilt.

    Congratulations, glad all went well.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I won't be running (I don't unless someone is chasing me...), but I'll be walking (kilted) in a local American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Walk on October 31st...I'll be wearing my pink two-tone flashes that I picked up on e-bay recently. Hopefully will have a picture or two to share.

Hope you had a great run!

Is that one of the Hash House Harrier tartans? Nice looking...oops! My mistake; looked at the website and it looks like a Hawaiian tatan.

You nailed it! My wife and I are Hawai'ian wannabees; we like the place and the tartan. The run was good, but I'm still feeling stiff as of this morning. That's what I get for running once a year.

    Thanks for all the comments.
