Nice collection PiobBear.

I only have one dirk (I made the handle from antler and Austrailian Lacewood)



I am working on another for way2fractious.



The dirk is complete and I have started the sheath. I still need to cover it with leather and make a frog (I was very interested in your pictures of the ones you had made and posted on another thread).

However, it underscores the fact that highland dress comes in several levels of formality. So, OK, I'm curious. On what informal occassions would I wear my soon-to-be one and only dirk (pictured above by Panache)?

bowies and daggers

in northern new mexico we call dirks ( bowie knives ) and sgian dubh ( push daggers ).

Very nice McVarmit, i have a hand made bowie that will be used a a dirk, made up in Alaska out of an elk antler, just need a dubh to match it.
