LOL.
No.
IN short, I do the vest/kilt thing a lot, too, after looking at many of Grahams pictures. My vests are a bit shorter-waisted, though, but the "look" works, IMHO.

It looks good, very well tailored kilt, IMNSHO.
Had a chuckle thinking of you asking somebody to take some pics so your online buds can tell you if your bum is too big. (I know the feeling, my biggest fear is to look like Miss Marple.)
Only thing, I'd critique would be the flash buckle and the sporran pulls the eye downward. It's okay with the vest but out of balance without the vest. I'd go with simpler belt and sporran if just shirted.
Hamish will explain it better (or contradict me, in which case I yield to him humbly)

That's a beautiful tartan and you wear it well!

The kilt looks very well taylored ands fits you very well. I think the belt is fine even for casual wear, but the rather large bright metal on the flap of the sporran is a bit much. I wear a Buzz Kidder Country Sporran for casual wear. It has a well proportioned Celtic knot in pewter on the flap, but it does not have a bright finish. I wear a pewter Kennedy clan crest on the flap of the cloth sporrans of my Amerikilts, but it is not overwhelming.
Congratulations on being able to ask the question "does this make my bum look to big." If I were to post a picture of myself in every kilt I own, and ask the same question, I would get a resounding "yes" on every picture.

Darrell | Are you trying to tell us that when you walk down the street you have to wear a "Wide Load" sign on yer back?
