Dumfries, Caerlaverock Castle and a New Kilt

Today I had private use of the wheelchair accessible community transport so I took Ann out from the nursing home.

We went to Caerlaverock Castle where we had lunch in the cafe.

Ann and I on the South Range of Caerlaverock Castle.
I have often visited Caerlaverock Castle and indeed this was my fourth visit to Caerlaverock within the past five months, though Ann had only been there once before.

After lunch we went to Dumfries.

We visited Anderson's Kilt Shop.

Ann wants me to wear a kilt in her family tartan.
She offered to buy me a kilt in McConnell tartan.
Kilt has duly been ordered from Andersons and will be woven by Dalgleish of Selkirk. Estimated delivery date is mid August.

Great to see Ann out and about Alex. The new kilt looks like a belter, what a lovely gift. Glad you both had a good day.
Best Regards John

Thanks for sharing those, Alex. I didn't make it as far as Dumfries when I was over last... Next time!

Hello Alex,
I'm glad to see you have such fine weather for an outing with Ann.
Please give her my greetings from Germany.
So, another kilt to add to your collection, and a very nice color indeed.
Regards,
Tom

That's a nice looking tartan. Look forward to seeing the kilt.

You'll love the new kilt. My kilts were woven by Dalgliesh and they're very well made.
It looks like a grand day for castle-spotting.
