    Dumfries and Galloway Pictures #9

As promised, here is a selection of pictures of my travels when I stayed at Ferintosh the week before last. The full set will be uploaded to my photo blog site at www.fotothing.com/cleftref .

Beached ship in Caerlaverock Parish about three miles from the Castle.

Plaque for the Caerlaverock Parish cairn.

    The cairn itself.

View across the River Nith from this point.

    Rusting Millenium Beacon.

    The beacon and the ship.

    More to come!

Nice pics, Trefor. I think the beached ship and the millenium beacon are situated at Glencaple, on the road from Dumfries to Caerlaverock but maybe you can confirm. When I was there earlier in the year there was also a beached hovercraft.

Yes Alex, that was the road and if you look at the picture you will just see that hovercraft to the left of the ship!

I envy you Patrick even though I have just been there - God Reise!
