Dumfries - xmarkers at The Globe last night.
Tuesday night's Dumfries kilts meet had a Burns theme.

Here I am ready for action at the Whitesands. The building to my right on the other side of the river is the Robert Burns Centre.

Round the corner I met Niblox, Pour1Malt, and McClef for our meal in Cavens.

Once replete, McClef posed for a photo outside Cavens.

Further up the street we called in at the Robert the Bruce for a refreshment.

Continuing round the corner, we had a photocall at the bard's statue. The lighting was difficult, with the evening sun behind the statue; perhaps other participants can post some better results from here.

Pleats in the streets of Dumfries.

Now we have reached the Globe, lets go inside for a closer look.

In the snug bar, which would have been the tack room in the days when Burns ate, drank and often slept here overnight.

Cheers !

More to follow shortly.

McClef sat in the bard's chair and recited the Selkirk Grace.

Meanwhile Niblox inspected the Dining Room.

McClef inspected the bard's bedroom.

This is the bed where Burns regularly slept when he stayed in town in Dumfries, rather than riding home to Ellisland Farm.

No visit to the Globe would be complete without the night shot in the lane as we left.

My final photo of the evening was taken in the Coach and Horses, where above and just to the left of Pour1Malt you can just glimpse the tartans chart on the wall.

Lovely pictures. You obviously had a great time. It's many years since I was in Dumfries.

Wonderful pictures, as always it looks like it was a great night.
