English Lake District

Dear friends of mine asked me down to their holiday home a couple of weeks back. They live in Merseyside, but have a love of the Lake District with a view of retiring there. Here's a couple of views.

Just outside of Sedbergh where their home (available for rent) is:

Moving swiftly on, this is the bridge crossing over the water at Aysgarth Falls

Stopping for a coffee in a little place called Muker. My friends Dr Rob Wright and his wife Gill.

Refreshed, we then drive on to Askrigg. This is where the tv series All Creatures Great and Small was filmed. The hotel contains photos of the cast.

Next up, Aira Force Waterfalls

Probably, a better known spot in the Lakes - Ullswater

Hope you enjoyed your wee tour of the Lake District.

I spent two weeks there while in grad school and found it to be a very nice and pretty place. And the folks were friendly as well.

Thanks for the photos./
