    Exotic Feline Rescue

It's a lovely day, a little warm for my taste, so I took a short trip.

We were of course greeted by dangerous furry creatures.

We got there early, so we had to wake the entertainment.

Things did pick up after a few roars.

This gentleman (Simba) was locked up and had to be slowly introduced into a pen larger than 4'x8'.

The place does not buy or sell the animals, and runs solely on donations. The "Guide" who is the first person they pull off work detail, was very accommodating. I do not remember all the details, however, they have around 217 cats, only 100 can be viewed by the public.

While the staff is very friendly, and willing to assist the public, they let you know before you get in that attempting to touch an animal you will be asked to leave. They said it very politely, but I believe that I caught the undertone that had I tried, I would have been thrown out hard and fast.

For comfort, I wore my hiking Keens, so no socks. I was also put out that not one person asked or said anything about my wearing a kilt. (not really)

Hi, Inchessi – it was good to see ol’ Simba there to represent Africa. But if they have bobcats, they ought to have a caracal (smaller relative of the lynx or bobcat, reddish in colour) or two, or some servals!
Perhaps I should post a picture of my pussycat lying on the wife’s old Royal Stewart dancing kilt. (She doesn’t wear it any more – she doesn’t like mothballs, and there are holes in it )
    Regards,
    Mike
