A Few Raft Trip Pics (no kilts)

Here's a pic of rafting down Glen Canyon on the Colorado River in Arizona, just below Glen Canyon Dam.

Here's a heron watching us watch him.

This bird is probably a falcon, but its hard to tell for sure with his body hidden in his own shadow on the canyon wall. He has just caught a trout and you can see by the fish shadow that he's carrying it in the most aerodynamic manner, with the head forward.

And, here's my country at the end of the day, the Vermillion Cliffs at twilight.

Was advised by a knowledgeable person tonight that the bird with the fish isn't a falcon since they don't fish. Probably and Osprey since there are so many in the canyon.

It's like something from the movies. Great.

Well, a lot of scenes from Broken Arrow were filmed down in Glen Canyon - when they wash out of the mines. They used the pontoon boats too but took the outer pontoons off for some reason. There's also a scene near the end filmed out at Lake Powell where our campout is being held.

So yeah, like from the movies....
